ABOUT BRAG YP
BRAG’s newest initiative began in late 2013, when BRAG launched the “Young Professionals” (YP), which is targeted at engaging the young and “young at heart” in the BRAG area. The first BRAG YP event took place in December at Alibi’s and despite the bad weather, 25 young professionals showed up to network and donate food items to benefit the Officer David Moore Food Pantry.
BRAG YP functions as an arm of BRAG, but with a focus on providing networking opportunities and service projects for young professionals in the BRAG community. Working with local businesses and nonprofit organizations, BRAG YP offers members a chance to meet other like-minded individuals, and learn more about why the BRAG area is such an amazing place to live, work, and do business.
Binford Redevelopment and Growth, Inc. (BRAG) is a neighborhood organization located in the northeast corner of Indianapolis. Founded in 2005 by a group of neighbors concerned about lack of retail services at 71st Street and Binford Boulevard, it has grown into a thriving organization covering 43 neighborhoods. The BRAG mission is the commercial and residential enhancement of Binford Boulevard and adjacent neighborhoods.
The organization addresses economic and quality-of-life issues facing residents and businesses in the area bound by Sargent Road on the east, 82nd Street on the north, Dean Road on the west and 56th Street and Fall Creek Road on the south. Hundreds of volunteers have planted bulbs, perennials and trees along the Binford corridor, a project supported by Keep Indianapolis Beautiful. (Source: www.binford71.org)
